Ranking a Website on Google in 2014

Hello to all of our great website clients!

There have been a lot of changes in Google of late! These changes have caused many people considerable pain with sales leads dropping due to poorer search page ranking, or ranking for the wrong things!

As part of our ongoing commitment to research and development we came across an awesome blog which explains Google’s recent changes. We’d like to share it with you.

Google have caught up to some of the tricks people were using and those tricks are no longer working!

A couple of years ago we could rank almost any website just by using links from other sites. This is no longer the case. Now content is key. Sure, back-links for brand names have value, but if you want to rank for a particular keyword you should now use a variety of synonyms (or words that have the same meaning) in your text and even in your back-links.

What else do we suggest?
• Ensure you have good blogging happening on your site regularly – even if you have to pay someone to do it for you!
• Ensure that your traffic generation strategy is up-to-date, and
• Remember that the most important thing in your online strategy is the ‘USER EXPERIENCE’.

Do this and Google will be VERY happy with you.
